EULITA (European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association) and Lessius University College Antwerp have organised a series of international workshops in the framework of the TRAFUT (Training for the Future) project.
The TRAFUT project promotes the implementation of the EU Directive on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings by holding discussions about related issues such as the legislative implications of the Directive for member states, quality/absence of quality in interpretation and translation, best practices for effective communication between judicial stakeholders and legal interpreters and translators, and modern communication technologies used in judicial contexts.
The four scheduled regional workshops have taken place in Slovenia, Spain, Finland and Belgium.
